Who is Eligible for Canada Immigration Through the Federal Skilled Worker Program?
According to Canada’s federal skilled worker program, only qualified foreign nationals from all around the earl are allowed to immigrate to Canada.
This program also comes under the express entry system. Candidates with the excellent probability of successfully setting up in Canada will be selected under this program.
This program is the second main Canada federal skilled worker program under express entry, under the Canadian experience class.
However, under express entry, only those candidates who pass 370 eligible occupations meet minimum entry criteria and will submit a profile to the express entry pool.
The profile of candidates ranks in the pool under a comprehensive ranking system. Candidates with the highest rank received an invitation letter to apply for permanent residence.
The candidate who received the invitation must be recommended to submit a complete application within 60 days.
Qualified candidates for the Canada federal skilled worker program must meet work experience, official language requirements, education, and age.
Requirement for Canada Skilled Worker Program
To be eligible for the Canada Federal Skilled Worker Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a minimum of one year of continuous full-time paid work experience (or comparable part-time continuous employment) in one of the 370 qualified occupations listed in the National Occupational Classification system within the last ten years.
- Work experience must fall into one of the following TEER categories: 0 (management occupations), 1 (occupations requiring a university degree), 2 (occupations requiring a college diploma, apprenticeship training of 2 or more years, or supervisory roles), or 3 (occupations requiring a college diploma, apprenticeship training of less than 2 years, or more than 6 months of on-the-job training).
- Score enough points on the Canada federal skilled worker program point grid, which is made up of six selection elements.
- Submit to third-party language testing and demonstrate intermediate-level language skills in English or French equivalent to the Canadian Language Benchmark of 7.
- Have adequate settlement funding.
- Pass a security background check and a medical checkup.
The selected qualified candidate is assessed against six factors to check their eligibility for skilled immigration to Canada. Make sure the candidate must obtain a total of 67 points out of 100 to qualify. The factors necessary to consider while selecting are:

Selection Factors
Selected applicants under Canada federal skilled worker program must have sufficient language expertise and work experience to get work permit, the candidate must score 67 points on the skilled worker selection grid.
Points are assigned for language, employment experience, arranged Canadian employment, education, language, adaptability, and age.
Education (Maximum Of 25 Points Required)
According to Canada federal skilled worker program policy maximum of 25 points are awarded for education, points are allocated on the base of Ph.D. degrees, and educational level. Foreign candidate designated a third party to verify their Canadian aggregate.

Those candidates are only eligible who have excellent skills in any one of Canada’s official languages, French or English. Under this selection factor, a candidate who meets the minimum threshold must score a minimum of 16 points. However, greater language proficiency is required to score more than 24 points.

Employment Experience- Minimum 9 Points to Maximum 15 Points
Under Canada’s skilled immigration program maximum of 1 year of work experience is required in an eligible occupation, maximum experience of 6 years considered.
Age: Maximum 12 Points Are Required
More than 12 points will be awarded to applicants between the ages of 18 to 35 years. For applicants above the age of 35 with deducted the allocation by 1, no points will be allotted as of the age of 47.
